MYJ (Goa) Veterans Set for MFA Veterans League
MYJ Football Club is proud to announce its Veterans Team that will compete in the upcoming MFA Veterans League. Bringing together former India internationals, I-League and institutional club players, coaches, and administrators, the squad represents both the legacy and continued passion for football within the MYJ family.
Mumbai Boys!
Among Mumbai’s finest football exports, Godfrey Pereira, our number 10, donned the India jersey in the 1990s and was a commanding presence for Air India FC. Following his playing career, he contributed as a coach and manager, including leading Air India in the I-League era. Henry Picardo, our club manager at present, and a solid defender of his time, represented India and also played for clubs in Goa and Mumbai. He remains an admired figure in Mumbai football circles for his commitment to the game. Currently the Technical Director and Head of the Women & Youth at MYJ Football Club, Santosh Koli has represented Maharashtra in the Santosh Trophy and turned out for Air India in domestic competitions. His leadership continues to shape the club’s grassroots and youth pathways.
From the East!
One of Indian football’s most celebrated wingers, Alvito D’Cunha, who represented the country between 2001 and 2006, leads our attacking line. A stalwart of Salgaocar and East Bengal, he won numerous national titles and remains remembered for his creativity and consistency at the top level. Former East Bengal player, Sasthi Duley will also make his debut for the Mighty Lions.
A Blend of Coaching and Playing Experience
A seasoned football professional, Anthony Fernandes transitioned into coaching after his playing days. He has served in technical and assistant coaching roles with top clubs, including stints at I-League and ISL level, bringing a wealth of tactical and managerial experience to the team. Ryan D’souza, India-capped, and current Union Bank of India manager, also brings a wealth of professional experience to the squad.

MYJ Veterans (Goa) have been drawn into Pool B, where they will face Blackwings FC and Madanpura United, both of whom advanced from the earlier group stage.

MYJ (Goa) vs Blackwings FC - Friday, September 19 at 4:00 pm.
MYJ (Goa) vs Madanpura United - Saturday, September 20 at 2:30 pm.
The Pool B winners will go on to meet the winners of Pool A, which features Aaron Tours (Chennai), Regal FC, and Golden Gunners.
