The Mighty Lions capped off their Mumbai Premier League Group A campaign with a commanding 3-1 victory over CFCI.
Abhijit Tawhare wasted no time, muscling past a defender before scoring from the tight angle in the opening minute to give MYJ an early lead. The first half saw an intense battle, with both teams creating chances but unable to add to the scoreline.
CFCI leveled early in the second half when Om unleashed a brilliant strike from outside the box. MYJ stepped up their attack in search of the lead again but some fine saves from CFCI kept the score at 1-1. However in the 88th minute, Tanmay and Palash combined well to set up an attacck from the right wing where Palash delivered a precise cross into the box to find Sujal who finished clinically to restore the lead.
CFCI came close to equalizing with a free-kick that struck the crossbar, but Tanmay sealed the victory late on with a well-taken goal, ensuring a strong finish for the Mighty Lions.
