MYJ-GMSC’s remarkable unbeaten run came to an end in a dramatic 3-2 loss to Kalina Rangers in the Mumbai Premier League.
Kalina took the lead in the 15th minute when Shoaib Baig pounced on a rebound to open the scoring. Shoaib struck again before halftime, doubling the lead after a defensive lapse from MYJ-GM.
The Mighty Lions roared back in the second half with Jay Bhavnani scoring from a well-worked move and an own goal by Kalina’s Troy leveling the scoreline. However, a stunning strike from Miit Adekar in the 85th minute sealed the win for Kalina Rangers, despite MYJ’s relentless push for an equalizer in added time.
Despite the setback, MYJ-GMSC remain top of Group A, and will look to get back into the winning ways when they face Reliance FYC on December 20th
