MYJ (Goa) produced a commanding display in the MFA Veterans Cup, easing past Blackwings with a 6-0 victory that highlighted both their attacking sharpness and defensive strength.
Right from kickoff, MYJ dictated the game with crisp passing and high possession, forcing Blackwings onto the back foot. The breakthrough came through Santosh Koli, followed by a fine strike from Alvito D'cunha. Midfielder Sasthi then stamped his authority on the match with two quick goals, giving MYJ a dominant 4-0 lead at halftime.
Blackwings tried to respond with a few promising opportunities, but their finishing let them down, as they struggled to get meaningful shots on target. At the other end, MYJ's defense, marshalled superbly by Robert D'souza, stayed compact and disciplined, ensuring a clean sheet.
The second half followed the same pattern, with MYJ pressing forward relentlessly. Koli netted again to extend the lead, before Henry Picardo completed the rout with the sixth goal.
The victory was a true team effort, with every player contributing to the result. From the relentless pressing up front to the composure in midfield and the disciplined backline, MYJ played with unity and purpose.
